Hi [fname]

Welcome to the Digital Photography Courses newsletter for November 2010.

Autumn is well and truly underway and we are coming to the end of our beginners group DSLR courses for 2010. We're still running 121 private tuition courses though and Gift Vouchers.

We have added an extra Portrait & Night course on November 21st and we do still have a few spaces.

We also have a space on our RAW photography & HDR course on Saturday 20th November.

Portrait & Night Course November 21st

We still have a couple of spaces for this really fun course which is really two courses for the price of one. It starts in the afternoon, with a portrait photography session, where you will be shown how to take some great portraits by available light and also flash. You’ll get the chance to try out studio lighting and backgrounds so you can produce professional looking portraits at home.

Night Photography

After a short break for something to eat the portrait photography session blends into the low light session where we will show you how to take pictures by candle light, spooky Halloween and firework shots, buildings at night and car light trails. . Ideally you will have your own tripod and cable release for this course.

RAW Photography, HDR & Photoshop Course on November 20th

This is one of my favourite’s courses but due to the extra Photoshop time we can only take three students at one time.

This is a fantastic course if you’re into photographing landscapes. It start with an explanation of the RAW format and the best setting to use on the camera followed by lots of practical photography and Photoshop work.

Ideally you will have your own tripod and laptop with Photoshop installed for this course but this isn't essential. RAW & HDR Course 20th November 2010

This month’s projects – Fireworks, Halloween and Frosty Mornings

With the clocks going back this month this is a great time to get out your tripod and cable release and aim to get some great firework pictures or a frosty morning shot. Remember that the best settings for firework photography is about 8 seconds at f8 using 400 or 800 ISO.

Keep an early morning eye open for cobwebs covered in ice or frost coated Autumn leaves. Try using a large aperture to bring out the detail in a single leaf or us a wide angle low down for a chilly view of piles of fallen leaves.
